Divine Birth

From Camp Halfblood

Divine birth is the form in which demigods are born.

[edit] Birth

The immortal gods have all inter-married or have had children by their brother or sister. This because the gods aren't human/mortal beings. They have no blood ties to the either because each is their own entity.

The same goes for their children. All of them would be marring their cousins, if it was saw as the mortal way. In turn, the demigod cousins are able to date and have children with each other, because they are also their parents divine entity and their mortal parents half-blood.

For example, a child of Athena could date a child of Poseidon.

[edit] Female Olympian Births

The female Olympians don't have to wait the normal nine months to give birth to their children. Since Artemis is a maiden she doesn't have children. Aphrodite and Demeter however by be with a mortal man and give birth the following the day. Athena's children are the born the same way she was. When Athena falls in love, is purely intellectual like she did with Odysseus in the old days. Her children are sprung from her divine thoughts and the inguneity of the mortal father, like Annabeth Chase.

[edit] Male Olympian Fertilization

When the male Olympian gives their sperm to a mortal woman, she instantly becomes pregnant. Even if she was already pregnant, the divine sperm of that god will mix with the unborn child, like what happened to the son of Zeus and Poseidon, Perseus and Theseus. It is also believed that the mortal woman will reach her full term before the nine months due to Sally Jackson's statement that Poseidon had only been with her for a summer and Percy was born that August.
